About The Position

Performs maintenance and repairs work in all general areas, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and the ability to prioritize. Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis, depending on equipment. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, renovating, and construction of plumbing distribution and fixtures steam distribution and heating. Performs all required inspections, and testing and preventative maintenance on all the plumbing systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 25, 70, 72, 99, and 110. Good working knowledge of State and local codes and their application in healthcare.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); no exceptions (Plumber I)
At least three (3) years of experience required (Plumber I)
Spreadsheet software knowledge
Word Processing software knowledge
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
Must possess and maintain a valid State-issued Journeyman Plumber's license
Must obtain CPR within six (6) months of hire
Associates degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two (2) years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university; or three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Plumber II)
An additional three (3) years of journeyman-level plumbing experience required (Plumber II)

Good working knowledge of wet/dry sprinkler systems
