About The Position

The Evergreen Center is a private non-profit organization that provides living and learning environments for children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs. The Evergreen Center welcomes all individuals from various backgrounds and experiences through cultural equity, inclusion, and diversity. We are currently seeking a Health Services Advisor (RN) who will conduct initial and on-going trainings for staff in the areas of Health and Safety and Medication Administration, and assist the Director of Health Services with health care support in the Residential Treatment, Adult Supports, and Community Services Programs. Evergreen Center is located in Milford, MA. This position is 38 hours per week. Schedule is flexible.

Requirements

Must have a Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
Four to ten years of related experience and/or training working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Nursing or health related field
Certification in Developmental Disabilities Nursing (CDDN) preferred

Responsibilities

Provides initial health and safety orientation for new staff
Provides annual health and safety CORE staff training
Provides annual refresher training for staff regarding health-related restraint guidelines
Collaborates in the development, implementation, and revision of staff training curricula related to medical, neurological, and other health-related subject matter
Provides ongoing in-service training for staff in the areas of health and safety, including health promotion, medical/neurological diagnosis, associated health conditions, and intervention strategies
Provides advisory support to the Director of Health Services in Residential and Adult Supports
Provides MAP training to staff members of the Adult Supports Division.
