Under general supervision, assists in the development and implementation of the I-77 safety program; conduct work site safety observations and incident investigations; support initiatives to educate and train employees about health and safety regulations and precautions to ensure a safe work environment. The role involves participating/assisting in the development and implementation of safety programs related to Maintenance and Tolling activities, and other OSHA safety compliance programs. The specialist will advise Operations & Maintenance, and ITS staff on safety protocols and procedures to ensure worker safety and regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, assigning and delivering training on safety procedures, emergency response, and PPE usage, ordering safety supplies, performing facility and equipment inspections, supporting corrective actions, investigating incidents, maintaining records, managing emergency situations, and monitoring subcontractor compliance.
