About The Position

The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and ensuring compliance with legal safety requirements and other relevant requirements pertaining to the company's activities. This role involves reporting to local authorities on HS matters, assessing risks, and implementing safety measures and emergency plans. The manager will support and maintain global HS standards, programs, policies, and procedures, while leading initiatives to foster a high-standard HS culture. Key responsibilities include establishing HS priorities, metrics, and objectives, and ensuring the effectiveness of the Management System by identifying non-conformities and improvement opportunities. The role also entails developing and improving HSQE Management systems following ISO 45001 requirements, managing HS training to ensure worker competencies (including OSHA mandatory training, Emergency Action Plan, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, PIV, Cranes), and establishing training effectiveness guidelines. Additionally, the manager will control and manage safety equipment and PPE, plan and conduct HS audits/inspections, ensure correct incident reporting and investigation, and determine corrective/preventative actions. The position requires identifying and complying with client HS requirements, assessing contractor HS performance, and maintaining communication channels with all interested parties. The Health & Safety Manager will also support tendering and contract revision related to HS aspects, ensure project and company activities adhere to HS requirements, update HS Company Portals, lead accident-prevention and loss control systems, maintain OSHA forms, act as a liaison with outside agencies, and establish and lead a safety committee.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA mandatory training, Emergency Action Plan, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, PIV, Cranes.
  • Ability to establish training effectiveness guidelines.
  • Proficiency in controlling and managing safety equipment and worker's PPE.
  • Skills in planning and conducting HS audits/inspections.
  • Experience in incident reporting and investigation, determining corrective/preventative actions, and identifying incident trends.
  • Ability to assess and monitor contractors' HS performance and compliance.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining communication channels with interested parties.
  • Ability to support tendering and contract revision related to HS aspects.
  • Knowledge of organizational HS requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in updating and maintaining HS Company Portals.
  • Ability to lead the advancement of accident-prevention and loss control systems and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Experience in maintaining OSHA 300, 300A, & 301 Forms.
  • Experience acting as liaison with outside agencies (e.g., City of Milwaukee, WDNR, Fire Department, Menomonee Valley Partners).
  • Ability to establish a safety committee, lead meetings, and follow up to ensure safety.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and ensure compliance with legal safety requirements, and other requirements, relevant to the company´s activities.
  • Report to the local authorities about relevant HS matters.
  • Assess the company activities' risks and implement the relevant safety measures and emergency plans.
  • Support, implement, and maintain the company's global HS standards, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead HS initiatives, plans, and actions to promote and create a high-standard HS culture.
  • Establish and maintain HS priorities, metrics, objectives, and requirements.
  • Check the effectiveness of the Management System, identify Non-conformities and improvement opportunities, and propose action to attain company objectives.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the HSQE Management systems following the ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Manage the HS training and orientation to ensure the correct worker's competencies. Training topics to be covered include, among others: OSHA mandatory training, Emergency Action Plan, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, PIV, Cranes, etc. Establish training effectiveness guidelines.
  • Control and management of safety equipment and worker's PPE.
  • Plan and conduct HS audits/inspections.
  • Ensure a correct reporting and incident investigation. Determine corrective action or preventative measures and ensure measures are implemented. Identify incident trends and design methodologies to reduce existing or potential incidents and health hazards.
  • Identify, assess, and comply with the relevant HS client's requirements to ensure the client's satisfaction.
  • Assess and monitor contractors' HS performance and compliance.
  • Create and maintain correct communication channels with interested parties to manage the HS matters. Including communication with workers, managers, directors, clients, contractors, suppliers, and others.
  • Support in the tendering and contract revision related to HS aspects.
  • Ensure any project and company activity is performed according to organizational HS requirements standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Update and maintain the HS Company Portals.

  • Maintain all OSHA 300, 300A, & 301 Forms.
