About The Position

Pape' is seeking a new Health & Safety Manager to join the team and oversee the stores in the central and southern California region. This role serves as the subject matter expert on all safety-related matters within the region. The Health & Safety Manager will drive to stores, interact with managers and members, and provide training and resources for a safe working environment. The position involves developing and delivering safety training, informing stores of new safety rules and regulations, conducting accident/incident investigations, and performing on-site inspections. The ideal candidate enjoys promoting safety, variety in job duties, and working with people.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years in a management position with demonstrable safety leadership responsibility as a subject matter expert, preferably in the heavy industrial or construction space.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, as well as the ability to create and present safety-related information to a variety of audiences and experience levels.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Availability for extensive overnight travel.
  • Must reside in assigned area of region.

  • Prior experience working for a state OSHA office preferred.
