You as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator will: Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment/treatment and accident/injury reports Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them Review of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittals Review and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittals Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statistics Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture Manage the onsite health care service provided to employees and subcontractors Manage and oversees the evaluation and treatment of employees with injuries and/or illnesses and referral to a physician or hospital, and subsequent follow-up treatment Follows-up on emergency hospital cases keeping the Claims Management, Site HSE team, project management, and the Regional HSE Director apprised of the status of patients Maintain confidential medical records in secure fireproof cabinets Assist in planning emergency evacuation procedures in conjunction with the site HSE coordinator and project management team Implement project medical database to support the reporting and follow up of injuries/illnesses managed by the on-site medical staff Is this the right role for you? You have a minimum of 2 years' of safety experience on Institutional, Commercial and Residential Construction Projects. You hold a valid first aid certificate. National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset. Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an asset. Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an asset. You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations. Knowledge of current occupational health practices and applicable legislation is desirable. Knowledge of medical record keeping requirements in accordance with standards of professional practice, applicable governmental regulations, and HSE requirements. Requirements
