About The Position

The Health & Safety Coordinator assists the EHS Manager in daily occupational safety programs. This role helps to implement company-wide occupational safety programs and serves as the coordinator for these programs throughout all company departments. The Health & Safety Coordinator will perform on-site training classes, control PPE inventory and distribution, and may be asked to help with plans, designs, implementations, and evaluations of departmental occupational safety programs.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, customer service and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
  • High proficiency with AES administrations systems, specifically Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively alone while prioritizing attention to detail.
  • Must be a highly motivated, service-oriented, and team-oriented individual.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Prior safety-related work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains health and safety objectives, targets, management programs, and control procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Develops, reviews, implements, and maintains required Health and Safety policies and procedures by managing them to meet requirements.
  • Drives health and safety by motivating employees to promote awareness and provide leadership on issues of health and safety.
  • Fosters new ideas to improve the safety program as well as reduce the environmental footprint of the facility.
  • Conducts weekly health and safety inspections and measures all aspects of health and safety and audit compliance with the respective programs.
  • Promotes a safe working environment by coordinating plant inspections and reporting statistics.
  • Identifies and organizes all required health and safety training for all existing and new employees (as required) to ensure due diligence. Tracking of Mineral onboarding completion.
  • Replenishes first aid kits, and other medical/safety personal protective equipment as depleted and advised by departmental supervisors and managers.
  • Active participation with AES first responder and safety committee programs.
