About The Position

This role is responsible for partnering with various business units to ensure the effective implementation and management of health and safety programs within the construction sector. The Health and Safety Business Partner will play a crucial role in promoting a strong safety culture, identifying risks, and developing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations relevant to construction.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety management systems.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and associated hazards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software for reporting and data analysis.
  • Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specific construction project types (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure).
  • Certification in occupational health and safety.
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety management software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures specific to construction operations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to site management and employees on health and safety matters.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs to employees at all levels.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders on health and safety issues.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practices in the construction industry.
