About The Position

As a Health, Safety and Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for driving Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) safety programs at the Payette ID site. Your role is crucial in ensuring quality and alignment with applicable procedures and policies. You will collaborate with employees across the site to ensure a safe and compliant workplace for all employees and support the Site Lead in establishing a successful culture of safety, maintaining compliance items, and meeting environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have valid driver’s license To be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to lead and influence others across multiple teams to implement policy, programs, and changes in the HSE field
  • Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Results/detail-oriented with the ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Regulatory knowledge in HSE, Federal OSHA, and building codes
  • Ability to analyze data and complete regulatory permits and correspondence
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the business
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills, including the capability to clearly present information to groups through oral and written means
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability and problem-solving skills essential
  • Capability to work with HSE Lead, Site Leadership, and site employees to build high morale and group commitment to goals and objectives

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in Environmental Safety & Health
  • Experience in a wide variety of safety programs
  • Knowledge of industry equipment is a plus
  • Lean/Six Sigma training
  • Project management experience
  • HazWaste Training/Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to site employees and safety program owners
  • Co-develop annual safety program with Site Lead and site safety committee
  • Perform site-required job observations, gap analyses, audits, and inspections as determined by the site safety program
  • Organize and schedule all Industrial Hygiene (IH) monitoring required for the site
  • Monitor contractor/guest database and assist the site with keeping contractor/guest status current
  • Prepare and retain training documents, job safety analyses, and other documents related to site safety activities
  • Coordinate safety training sessions and assist employees with the development of presentations
  • Coordinate site-specific changes to programs, training, and maintenance requirements based on corporate policy updates
  • Maintain continuous improvement efforts and attend additional Bayer safety educational training as required
  • Support field and lab activities by conducting inspections and maintaining metrics and KPIs on performance
  • Lead incident investigations and perform other HSE duties as directed by the Site Manager
