Dessert Holdings is looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) Professional (Supervisor) to join our team based in Le Center, MN to be responsible for the day-to-day safety initiatives in our facility. The EHS Professional will promote safety attitudes, safe work practices and environments, and maintain and administer the EHS program with the objective of preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.

Requirements

  • Technical Safety degree or certification or related education is a must
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of occupational health & safety regulations, and occupational health and safety standards
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to be an effective influencer at all levels and display effective leadership skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Must be a highly motivated, service- and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail effective managing self with little supervision – self driven.

Nice To Haves

  • A professional designation (e.g., CSP, CRSP) is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by understanding existing and changing laws and rules, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Lead and/or support incident and accident investigation using root cause analysis and reporting and tracking any data
  • Responsible for keeping records of safety-related incidents and recommendation and administration of corrective measures.
  • Collaborate and share best practices with other Company facilities and support the execution of initiatives.
  • Review safe work procedures, written reports, and provide recommendations.
  • Perform safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis & risk assessments.
  • Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety program by all Dessert Holdings employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Partner with Human Resources in workers compensation management.
  • Understand local incident record keeping requirements.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting compliance reports (300, 300A logs, injury reports, etc.) where applicable.
  • Coordinate the site health and safety committee and ensure compliance, where applicable.
  • Point of contact for on-site security, where applicable.
  • Assist with developing safety culture at the facility.
