About The Position

Family Health West is seeking a Health Record Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for processing medical record requests, ensuring accurate accounting of disclosures, and maintaining departmental supplies and equipment. The position is full-time and offers a vibrant work environment focused on patient empowerment and professional growth. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Anatomy and Medical Terminology experience preferred.
• Immunizations required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Processes incoming medical record requests for both Cerner and eCW within 3 days of receipt, provided the record is complete.
• Ensures reliable and punctual attendance as scheduled.
• Communicates necessary information to others as appropriate.
• Scans completed medical record requests into patient’s medical records.
• Responds to emailed record requests and assists with answering phone calls.
• Enters all completed medical record requests on the Record Tracking spreadsheet in H: drive for an accurate accounting of disclosures for the department.
• Tracks correspondence requests for information, including medical record requests from insurance companies, Medicare, attorneys, patients, and payer/quality audits.
• Pulls and submits weekly/monthly medical record reports as requested to the HIMS Director.
• Orders departmental supplies and conducts routine equipment monitoring of the printer, fax, and scanners.
• Adheres to all organization Human Resource and Privacy policies.
