About The Position

This is a newly created leadership role as part of our transformation of Health and Fitness programs across the region. You will lead the growth of evidence-based health programs that support chronic disease prevention, rehabilitation, and long-term wellness, while building strong partnerships across the healthcare system. This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond program delivery and into regional leadership, shaping how community-based health services are designed, delivered, and scaled. In this role, you will lead the growth, quality, and impact of Health Promotion programs across YMCA of Southern Interior BC.

Requirements

  • A degree in Kinesiology, Health Sciences, or a related field
  • Experience leading programs serving clinical or specialized populations
  • Strong relationship-building skills with healthcare and community partners
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and data-informed decision making
  • The ability to lead change, drive innovation, and scale programs across multiple sites
  • A passion for community health, equity, and accessible wellness
  • Three professional references are required
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to start
  • Ability to travel within the region.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and expansion of health promotion programs across multiple locations
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based program delivery and strong participant outcomes
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with health authorities, physicians, and community partners
  • Position the YSIBC as a key partner in chronic disease prevention and rehabilitation
  • Lead and support a team of supervisors and specialized staff
  • Use data and evaluation to drive continuous improvement and program impact
  • Support funding opportunities, grant writing, and long-term sustainability.
