Health Promotion Specialist
About The Position
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Health Promotion Specialist to join their team. This role is crucial in elevating health promotion efforts and creating an environment where students feel supported, connected, and empowered. The specialist will work closely with campus partners, student leaders, and community organizations to deliver engaging wellness programs. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
- Knowledge of health education theories and wellness program design
- Knowledge of advancing wellness education and mental health support for students
- Skill in program implementation and evaluation in a wellness or educational setting
- Skill in resource development and external funding acquisition
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders
- Ability to foster relationships and build networks
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements innovative health education and wellness programs tailored to student needs
- Evaluates the effectiveness of wellness programs and adjusts based on feedback and outcomes
- Collaborates with campus departments and community partners to enhance program delivery and reach
- Acts as a key resource for students and staff on health and wellness topics
- Builds and maintains relationships with local organizations to support and fund wellness initiatives
- Secures external funding through grants and partnerships to sustain and expand wellness programs
- Oversees the Wellness Peer Educator program including recruiting, hiring, training, and ongoing supervision of the students
- Partners with the Health Promotion team to develop impactful health promotion efforts that are innovative and responsive to students' needs
- Uses campus health and wellness data to inform initiatives
- Cultivates partnerships with on and off campus resources to further our efforts
