The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Immunization unit is recruiting for a Health Program Specialist 2, located in Carson City, NV. The position acts as the Program Quality Assurance Manager and leads statewide immunization quality assurance and provider education by managing Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) improvement projects, ensuring required site visits and trainings, and delivering provider education and presentations. It oversees the VFC Unit, directing program planning, documentation, statewide provider coverage, CDC grant reporting, and maintaining compliance with federal standards. The position represents the State Immunization Program, engages with stakeholders, and serves as the clinical subject-matter expert for immunization inquiries. Supervisory duties include maintaining performance standards, overseeing daily staff activities, ensuring compliance with mandates, addressing performance issues, completing required trainings, promoting teamwork, and holding supervisees to consistent expectations. Health Program Specialists plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health services and activities; conduct research and analyze health data and statistics; develop goals, objectives, program requirements and procedures; provide technical information regarding specialized health related conditions; and participate and provide support to various committees, advisory boards, and other work groups. Duties are related to one or more specialized health programs which operate on a statewide basis and focus on the prevention, early detection, treatment, education and tracking of data relevant to a specific communicable or chronic disease, maternal and child health, nutrition and other conditions which impact the health of under-served or target groups within the general population.
