About The Position

The Health Program Coordinator will assist with the coordination of learning collaborative projects under the scope of the New York State Perinatal Quality Collaborative (NYSPQC). This individual will contribute to fulfilling the NYSPQC’s mission to provide the best, safest, and most equitable care for NYS’s birthing people and infants, reducing morbidity and mortality for these populations. The work of the NYSPQC is currently focused on birth equity, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) equity, opioid use disorder in pregnancy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. A project focused on the reduction of low-risk cesarean births is currently under development. This individual will contribute to the ongoing coordination of the development and implementation of NYSPQC projects to support evidence-based and informed practice changes in participating NYS birthing facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with assisting in the coordination and/or organization of a large-scale project.
  • Experience in maternal and child health.
  • Experience working with hospital providers.
  • Experience assisting with the development of educational strategies, resources and/or materials.
  • Experience in assisting with developing and coordinating reports for key stakeholders.
  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field.
