About The Position

The Health Program Coordinator I will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring health care center contracts for persons at-risk for or living with HIV that provide services based in healthcare centers across New York State. The incumbent will serve as a liaison to contractors; maintain communication with contractors regarding program requirements; assess provider performance, monitor program outcomes and quality improvement activities; negotiate contract budgets and workplans while coordinating technical assistance to ensures compliance with program standards and goals. The incumbent will also coordinate and conduct site visits; review monthly/quarterly narrative reports and monthly data reports; review and approve budget modifications and vouchers; prepares monitoring, narrative, and statistical reports; coordinates Bureau of HIV Ambulatory Care Services community program planning and development. Complete writing assignments and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience.
  • At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Travel up to 25 % of the time will be required.
  • The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and one-year contract management experience.
  • Knowledge of issues related to the provision of services to persons with and/or at risk for HIV/AIDS.
  • Experience working with HIV/AIDS community-based organizations/health service providers, monitoring, and evaluating program activities, and conducting quality improvement activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
