About The Position

The position may be in Anchorage or Wasilla, depending on the location of the most qualified candidate. What you will be doing : In this role, you will support Alaska's Tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control efforts by working closely with the TB Clinical Public Health Nursing team. You will assist with infectious disease surveillance, contact investigations, case finding, outreach activities, and tuberculosis education. You will analyze disease trends and data to support public health planning and decision-making while helping coordinate care across the state. You will also collaborate with tribal partners, local health agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen public health partnerships and improve health outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on communities throughout Alaska while building expertise in public health and disease prevention.

Requirements

  • A valid Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
  • Competencies in Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Competencies in Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Competencies in Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Competencies in Writing: Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Education in a biological, health, or behavioral science; public, healthcare, or business administration; data management or a closely related field; AND/OR Progressively responsible paraprofessional experience supporting a health and social service program and delivery system; applying requisite rules, regulations, and terminology used in the work; completing medical billing, medical claims, medical transcriptions, and/or medical coding; and/or using computer applications, databases, and reporting systems required to process, store, and maintain data and information subject to privacy and confidentiality laws and rules.
