About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a Health Professions Education Coordinator to join our team of education administrative professionals. This position will coordinate the medical student clinical education and training within the Department of Psychiatry. This position also directly supports the Inpatient Psychiatry faculty responsible for coordinating schedules and general administrative support. The Health Professions Education Coordinator must utilize fundamental knowledge of the accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies requirements to manage workflow components of the administrative and professional responsibilities for the program’s learners while serving as the primary liaison between program and course directors, learners, clinical teaching faculty, institutional offices, and affiliated teaching sites concerning program matters. While the primary location for this position is University Hospital (600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI), there may be days where this role works from our main administrative office area at WisPIC (6001 Research Park Blvd, Madison, WI). This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Requirements

1 year of experience in an administrative support role.
1 year of experience of coordinating and managing complex schedules or events.
Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.
Previous administrative roles in academic medicine, education, healthcare or related fields.
Excellent time management, strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and solid project management skills.
Strong independent critical thinking, sound decision making and ability to adapt.

Nice To Haves

1 year of experience in an academic medical setting or prior experience in higher education or equivalent.
Experience in technical educational administrative platforms and learning management systems – Oasis, Acuity, Qgenda, MedHub.
Prior experience at UW Madison or UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

Responsibilities

Maintains accurate records of the curriculum, evaluations, and participation
Serves as resource to advise learners of program/institutional policies and procedures
Contributes to the design, development and implementation of curriculum, evaluations and both computer-based and performance-based assessments
May manage the unit budget and approve unit expenditures
Schedules evaluations, assessments, and teaching sessions, and creates and maintains the academic year calendar and/or clinical rotation schedules
Maintains a thorough understanding of accreditation program requirements, regulatory requirements and hospital/clinical setting and program policies to ensure accreditation and compliance with regulatory bodies and pertinent policies.
Orients department and affiliate site coordinators and teaching faculty to curriculum, policy and logistics
Serves as the primary contact for the program, liaising with those directly associated with the program, institutional offices, and affiliated teaching sites, in and out of the state of Wisconsin
