This position works in the Behavioral Health Administration’s (BHA) Office of Behavioral Health Research and Innovation (BHRI) and reports to the Assistant Director of the Office of Behavioral Health Research and Innovation. The Health Policy Analyst Advanced position performs advanced-level data analysis, data and reporting system development, program evaluation and continuous quality improvement work related to the use and effectiveness of opioid and stimulant use related prevention, treatment and recovery initiatives in Maryland. This position primarily supports the data and reporting requirements of the State Opioid Response (SOR) grant. Specific responsibilities include the development of grant related data collection protocols; the design and implementation of data-focused studies using multiple administrative datasets; and leading the preparation of reports, data and policy briefs, infographics and presentations to support the State Opioid Response (SOR) Initiative and Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) program planning, policy development and continuous improvement efforts. The position will provide expert consultation to BHA and SOR leadership and program staff and other MDH and State Opioid partners to inform policy initiatives and data to action strategies.
