About The Position

Provides basic first aid and health care to all campers throughout the day . Duties include parent correspondence, first aid administration, and following state guidelines. Great opportunity for Nursing/Health Administration students. Timeframe June 22nd – August 14th (Optional add on of August 17 – 21st) Required orientations (1 needed) runs throughout June 1- 14 (Evenings/Weekends) 9:00am - 5:00pm Essential Functions Basic First Aid as needed and logged. Administers camper medications as needed and logged. Document all injuries and accidents. Answers voicemails and emails in a timely manner. Inventory and maintain office and first aid supplies. Help parents as needed with the PlayerSpace app and any related troubleshooting. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children, and staff. Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualities Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations. Ability to help children grow in character, experiences, and insights. Ability to always guard the health and well-being of campers. Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities

Requirements

• One year or more of college preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED for the Professional Rescuer certified or willing to do so.
• Previous experience working with school age children.
