About The Position
The Health Information Specialist processes medical records requests for patients, doctors’ offices, law offices, attorneys, and other requesters. The role requires experience using Epic’s Release of Information (ROI) module and familiarity with HIPAA and Release of Information practices. Accurate data entry and processing, e-fax, Kofax, and PDF application use are also required.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with Epic’s Release of Information (ROI) module.
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and some knowledge of Release of Information.
- At least 95% accuracy in data entry and processing.
- Experience using e-fax, Kofax, and a PDF application.
Nice To Haves
- RHIT or RHIA credential preferred; licensure is not required.
