About The Position

The HIM Supervisor oversees a team of HIM professionals and collaborates with clinical, operational, compliance, and technology stakeholders. This role is 100% onsite, with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM CST, Monday through Friday, and weekends as needed. The position is located at 1201 West 38th Street, Austin, TX.

Requirements

RHIT or RHIA certification
Strong Organizational and Management Skills, Problem-Solving.
Minimum 2 years of progressive HIM experience.
Minimum 1 years of leadership or management experience of several employees.
Working knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, and healthcare documentation practices.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and HIM technologies
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification.
RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification.
Experience in a multi-site hospital environment.
Prior experience with Cerner experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop HIM staff, supervisors, and team leads.
Ensure effective staffing, workload distribution, and resource utilization.
Investigate and resolve potential HIM-related compliance concerns.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and availability of patient health information.
Monitor compliance with documentation standards and record retention requirements.
Establish departmental goals, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements.
