About The Position
The Health Educator - Senior position specializes in stimulating, coordinating, and delivering oral health prevention and promotion activities in the community. This position is responsible for a leadership role in the community related to community development, advocacy, and public relations. Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized Dental Therapy program
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
- Basic - Organizational skills
- Basic - Communication skills
- Basic - Time management skills
- Basic - Computer skills
- Ability to interact in a positive and culturally appropriate manner
- Knowledge in oral health and overall health relationship
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Knowledge in population health promotion approaches and community development
- Advocates delivery of culturally safe, responsive & people-centered healthcare
- Knowledge of current scientific info/research/best practice in oral health
- Knowledge in population health promotion and its relationship to health status
Nice To Haves
- Graduate from a recognized Dental Hygenist program is also acceptable
Responsibilities
- Stimulating, coordinating, and delivering oral health prevention and promotion activities in the community.
- Taking a leadership role in the community related to community development, advocacy, and public relations.
- Diagnosing dental decay/abscesses and identifying oral abnormalities.
