About The Position

Whether supporting commercialization of cutting-edge biomedical innovation or bringing innovations to market, our clients need a team member who can help advise clients on comprehensive commercialization strategies. That is why we need you, an experienced Health Commercialization Advisor who can analyze every aspect of our customer's commercialization and provide high-quality support. As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You will work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. You’ll leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You’ll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating commercialization of successfully developed technologies. You'll serve as a Health Commercialization Advisor helping clients to understand issues related to commercialization of new health technologies. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving skills will enable the mission's success.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, commercialization, or investment strategy
  • Experience with technology transfer, digital technology, and diagnostic technology
  • Experience conducting independent research, analyzing data, and producing professional reports
  • Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively and operate independently within a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Master’s degree in a Science field such as Biomedical Engineering or Biochemistry

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience within a federal ARPA organization
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience with intellectual property (IP) and licensing strategies
  • Experience in user-centered product development, engagement, and the transition of healthcare solutions
  • Experience with FDA regulations and integration of technology into clinical and care delivery workflows
  • Ability to demonstrate strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare impact and scientific discovery
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration

Responsibilities

  • Support agency-level portfolio commercialization strategy, including whitespace analyses, impact or ROI assessments, and monitoring overall progress toward technology transition.
  • Develop commercialization strategies for ARPA-H programs and performers from an investor or business perspective.
  • Work holistically across the full ARPA-H program portfolio to identify unmet needs and high-potential opportunities for investment and commercialization.
  • Develop strategies that prioritize and guide ARPA-H investment toward areas with the potential for transformative impact and high return on investment (ROI).
  • Develop and implement strategies for stakeholder engagement and key services supporting transition and commercialization.
  • Advise on the design, execution, and improvement of transition programs.
  • Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness and outcomes of commercialization initiatives, recommending improvements for future efforts.
  • Lead the creation of assets to succinctly communicate business concepts and their application to transformative technologies such as reimbursement pathways or customer discovery.
  • Conduct commercial gap analyses to assess performer needs and identify commercial and operational risks.
  • Ensure high-quality market landscape assessments and other commercialization analyses produced by vendors for program managers and performers.
