Health Coach for Foreign Medical Graduates

Tru Medical Management•New York, NY
•$21 - $25•Onsite

About The Position

This role is for foreign medical graduates who have earned a medical degree abroad and wish to utilize it in the US while working towards residency, PA, or NP school. Unlike many jobs open to them, this position offers direct patient interaction, providing them with their own panel of patients, monthly case meetings with US physicians and nurse practitioners, and hands-on experience in a US primary care setting. No prior US experience is required. Tru Medical is an award-winning adult primary care practice serving East Williamsburg and Clinton Hill in Brooklyn, recognized as a NYS-accredited Patient-Centered Medical Home and a multi-year insurance quality award winner with high patient satisfaction ratings. The practice offers primary care, women's health, chronic care management, ultrasound, walk-in visits, and telemedicine. Their mission is 'Quality Affordable Care for All,' with a focus on listening to patients, many of whom are Spanish-speaking. The practice is described as small enough for providers and managers to know employees by name, with opportunities for growth for those who align with their values. The work environment is built on trust, respect, and understanding, emphasizing active listening, patient-centered care, kindness, professionalism, problem-solving, and teamwork. This role is not suitable for individuals who prefer to strictly adhere to their job description, take patient dissatisfaction personally, avoid asking questions or admitting mistakes, use downtime for personal phone use, or are looking for a short-term position. Specifically for this role, it is not for those who view coaching as beneath their training, as the focus is on listening and explaining rather than lecturing. This is a non-physician role, meaning the coach will not diagnose or prescribe.
