About The Position

At the 24-Hour Nurse Line, the Health Coach Consultant utilizes a collaborative process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to engage, educate, and promote/influence members' decisions related to achieving and maintaining optimal health status. This role requires an RN with an unrestricted active license. The 24-Hour Nurse Line provides a telephone-based information and decision support program to eligible members. The Nurse will be responsible for facilitating effective health care decision-making, improving the quality of care, enhancing member satisfaction with their health care plan, facilitating appropriate use of health care resources, providing up-to-date health care information to help members understand their health problems and possible options, assisting by clarifying available options for the member's particular health problem or issue, helping members actively and knowledgeably participate with their provider in their own health care decision-making, promoting healthy lifestyles to help lower personal health risks and prevent illness, and making referrals to available health and wellness programs as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Active unrestricted RN compact state licensure.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience required, specifically in: Disease Management, Emergency Room, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical Care, Oncology.
  • 1 year proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook and Microsoft Word).
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Enjoy working with computers and evolving technology, prefer online resources over printed documents.
  • Telephone experience in the nursing field, especially telephone triage, emergency room, and/or urgent care experience.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to complete 6 weeks Mon-Fri orientation on a variable daytime schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Managed Care experience preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience preferred.
  • Model candidates have telephone triage nursing experience.
  • Must reside in a nurse Compact State and hold a Compact license.
