About The Position

The Health Clinic Physician Tuberculosis provides clinical and consultative tuberculosis services in support of statewide public health goals. The position ensures patient care follows established guidelines and supports effective disease control. The physician conducts comprehensive evaluations, develops treatment plans, and provides clinical care to advance public health outcomes.

This is a per diem position scheduled on an as-needed basis. Days and times vary depending on need. Weekend hours are not required, and telework is not available.

Requirements

• Possess a valid professional physician license.
• Be able to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation, including required criminal history clearances under the Child Protective Services Law.

Responsibilities

• Conduct examinations, diagnose tuberculosis, order tests, prescribe medications, and document care plans.
• Manage medication orders, authorize imaging and laboratory work, and direct isolation-related decisions.
• Review test results, adjust care based on guidelines, and monitor patients for drug effects.
• Provide clinical opinions and guidance for tuberculosis cases in person or through electronic communication.
• Evaluate records and treatment histories to ensure appropriate management of tuberculosis cases.
• Work with state and local health staff to support interviews and evaluations of individuals with tuberculosis.
