About The Position

Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood is seeking a Health Center Manager for our health center located in Troy, NY. This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) career opportunity and is benefit eligible! The Health Center Manager [HCM] is responsible for all operational and clinical performance and day-to-day activities at the assigned health center. Reporting to and in collaboration with the VP of Patient Services, the HCM must assure daily staffing coverage at assigned health center, work collaboratively with other HCMs to redeploy staff to other centers based on need, and handle patient issues and complaints as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management or related field required.
  • Three years of relevant on-site management experience required, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Non-Profit experience desired.
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory, and healthcare finance management skills.
  • Ability to effectively motivate a diverse staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to lead and work as a team.
  • Computer skills including knowledge of clinic management software, electronic communications and use of management information systems as a management tool.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to participate in all levels of operations to assure maximal performance of the health center.

  • Qualified driver’s license and daily availability to an automobile.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of assigned health center(s).
  • Directly supervises (which includes hiring, orienting, training, reviewing and terminating, if needed) all staff in the health center(s).
  • Will provide leadership/training pertaining to but not limited to: work flow processes, staffing needs, meeting productivity goals, change process and building service-orientated health center teams.
  • Work closely with the Call Center to ensure that protocols are followed and patient care is a priority.
  • Manages staffing levels and establishes overall budget for area of responsibility.
  • Monitors client volume, capacity and productivity for assigned health center(s). This position is responsible for creating and maintaining staffing levels and appointment schedule templates that account for No Show Rates and seek to meet or exceed PPFA productivity goals for visits/hour and relative value unit (RVU), and meet or exceed annual estimated visits proposed in organization annual budget.
  • Maintains direct control over and accountability for health center inventories, purchases, supplies and petty cash. Responsible for center to be adequately supplied and all equipment in working order.
  • Ensures that health center staff understands and comply with organization protocols including regulations regarding patient rights, HIPAA requirements, regulations regarding identification and reporting of child abuse and sexual abuse of a minor, consents.
  • Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act), OSHA(Occupational Safety & Health Act) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Administration) and Title X.
  • Assures all staff are trained to offer excellent customer service and quality care to patients in each of their specialty areas in the health center(s).
  • Holds daily briefs / huddles (assigning a deputy in the absence of HCM) to assure that communication of new information and the daily schedule and staffing are clear to all staff.
  • Motivating center based team through frequent communications, including assuring that self and staff are aware of their role in facilitating UHPP’s strategic strategies and goals.
  • Ongoing and continual supervisory feedback for health center staff members to identify and remove barriers to success and create useful systems based on their input.
  • Proactively identifying obstacles to quality and/ or customer service and either making changes in sphere of influence or reporting issues to VP of Patient Services for further assistance.
  • Completes new staff probationary assessments, annual performance appraisals, 90 day appraisals, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions when timing or staff behavior requires action.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork; understands the interaction between this position and others with whom the position works directly and indirectly.
