About The Position

The Health Care Technician I will provide facilitative services and quality care for the welfare, safety and security of individuals at Cherry Hospital. Work involves providing ongoing observation, interaction, and feedback to individuals under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Work also involves working with the interdisciplinary/treatment team and providing input on each individual’s care and condition. Work involves ongoing contact with individuals who may be diagnosed with a wide spectrum of psychiatric and/or developmental conditions that may include unpredictable behaviors, maladaptive, and aggressive behaviors. HCT I’s implement specific interventions identified in the individual’s comprehensive treatment plan.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Basic knowledge of a variety of psychiatric, intellectual disabilities, medical and/or other related conditions.
  • General knowledge of dietetics, sanitation, and personal hygiene.

Nice To Haves

  • Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. (If applicants are not NA I certified and are selected for a position, training will be offered by the hospital. However, certification must be obtained, and employee must pass all facility required training as a condition of employment.)

Responsibilities

  • Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • Must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
