About The Position

The Adult Admissions Unit is an inpatient unit serving individuals from the ages of 18 years of age and older. The objective of the admission unit is to provide a safe and structured environment for crisis stabilization. This position typically works M-F 8am – 5pm however, may be assigned to other shifts as needed to meet the needs of the unit. Cherry Hospital is a State-of-the-Art Psychiatric hospital located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Cherry Hospital serves the 38 most eastern counties of North Carolina with a mission to serve those with the greatest need and the fewest resources. Requirements

Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical terms and abbreviations.
Ability to transfer written information accurately to various forms.
General office skills such as filing and telephone etiquette.
Computer skills/proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Administrative/clerical tasks
Assist the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure sufficient documents are available and also with accurate unit record keeping
Communication across disciplines and hospital departments via phone, email, and writing
Assisting the CNM to follow up with staff for compliance with required Cherry Hospital training
