Requirements

Ability to obtain an Alberta Security License
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Reliable personal vehicle
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
Ability to write detailed reports and maintain site logs
Ability to make sound decisions during emergencies with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Availability for a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends
Ability to walk approximately 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs regularly

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare security experience
Experience working with vulnerable populations
First Aid and CPR certification
Experience with conflict resolution and crisis intervention
Experience using security technologies such as access control and surveillance systems

Responsibilities

Apply strong judgment and communication skills to security and safety-related duties
Ensure all safety and emergency procedures are followed
Adhere to site-specific Post Orders, policies, and procedures
Complete site-specific training and follow guidance from supervisors and management
Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at facility access points
Patrol assigned areas on foot and/or by vehicle
Monitor facilities for safety hazards, security breaches, and irregular activities
Respond to incidents and emergency situations promptly and professionally
Assist patients, visitors, staff, and members of the public when needed
Contact emergency services including police, fire, and EMS when required
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and private information
Respond to inquiries and provide customer service in a professional manner
Utilize two-way radios, computers, and reporting systems
Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate site logs
Promote workplace safety and support fellow team members
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability at all times
