About The Position
Under general supervision, according to hospital standards and regulatory agency requirements, performs duties associated with numerous maintenance activities including construction, (routine carpentry, plastering, painting etc.) electrical, maintenance, plumbing and mechanical work. Position requires certification as a Healthcare Mechanic or Senior Healthcare Mechanic as outlined below.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- Proven mechanical work experience or vocational course (i.e., drafting, machine shop, auto repair, construction, electrical/electronic).
- Must be able to list medium loads (25-50 pounds), climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl occasionally (0-33% of the workday)
- Must be able to walk and handle materials frequently (34-66% of the workday)
Nice To Haves
- MECH Senior Certification successful completion required within four years.
