Requirements
- Health Care Aide Certificate, OR a foreign-trained nursing degree, OR be a current nursing student
- Alberta HCA Directory registration (or ability to register)
- CPR and First Aid certificate (or willingness to get it)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray
- Valid driver’s license and reliable car
- A kind heart and a desire to help others
- Live within the area of service
Responsibilities
- Helping with personal care like bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Preparing meals and helping with light cleaning
- Assisting with medication administration
- Accompaniment on errands or on appointments
- Providing friendly companionship and conversation
- Supporting clients as they move around safely
- Following a care plan and documenting care
