You will provide quality, patient-centred care to our clients. As a Health Care Aide within our CBI Home Health team, you will call upon your nurturing and assisting skills to provide overall care to clients. In this position you will assist clients with personal care, lifts and transfers, toileting, bathing, and feeding. You will also provide light housekeeping support, prepare meals, and be a companion. Requirements

  • Active License and in good standing with the CLHA
  • A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen within the last 6 months
  • Proof of a negative TB test within your lifetime
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Commitment to work every other weekend
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Reliability and strong organization skills
  • Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care, lifts and transfers, toileting, bathing, and feeding.
  • Provide light housekeeping support.
  • Prepare meals.
  • Be a companion to clients.
  • Support clients to be as safe and independent in their homes as possible.
  • Assist clients to mobilize and perform light exercises.
  • Observe, document, and report any changes in a client's condition to your Manager/Supervisor.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.
