About The Position

MasTec is holding a career fair in Madisonville, Texas on May 20, 2026, for open roles supporting their Pecan Prairie North & South renewable energy solar field/farm projects. The event will take place at the Truman Kimbro Convention Center from 1 PM to 4 PM CST. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with hiring managers, network, participate in on-the-spot interviews, and potentially receive a job offer within 1-2 days after the event. MasTec Renewables, a part of MasTec's Clean Energy & Infrastructure segment, combines over 20 years of renewable energy construction experience and emphasizes diversity, innovation, and a respectful work environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to travel and work away from home base area for the entire duration of the project/apprenticeship program
  • Ability to perform tasks as directed by management.
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using basic power tools preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Use appropriate hand tools (i.e. crescent wrench, pliers, hammer, screwdriver, etc.) and power tools (i.e. Drills, Impact Wrenches) to perform a variety of functions to install photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions
  • Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules, panels, or support structures, as specified
  • Install structural, mechanical, rack system and PV panels
  • Lift, carry and hold building materials, tools, and supplies; clean tools, equipment, material, and work areas. Work areas will have a clean as you go policy, and work areas will be clean before leaving site.
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles. If needed, use your stop work authority until the issue is resolved
  • Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor; participate in investigation process as needed
  • Participate in all pre-job work planning and safety discussions; Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards
  • Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back-up alarms, smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens)
  • Understand, support, and follow lockout/tag out procedures. Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as out lined in training
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job
  • Actively participate in on-the-job training and mentoring opportunities with co-workers in your craft when provided
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards
  • With regard to that portion of the work assigned, assist in the storage, planning and lay-out of materials in accordance with those plans and specifications
  • Learn to observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Notify supervision of any hazards observed and utilize safety stop work authority as needed
  • Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and continuous improvement measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed reporting any issues to your supervision
  • If certified to operate equipment ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated, maintained, in good working order, and Daily Equipment Inspections are completed for equipment being utilized
  • Perform all other actions necessary to accomplish the foregoing principal duties and accountabilities
  • Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested by supervisor
