About The Position

This is a salaried exempt, full on-site position located in Bradford, PA. Smoking is permitted in most areas of Zippo workplace facilities, other than certain designated non-smoking areas.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience with knowledge of workers’ compensation preferred
  • Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist
  • Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AX operating system preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and personalized care to meet the medical and emotional needs of employees, including medical intervention for sudden onset of acute illness/injury, refer to emergency services or primary care or other medical attention.
  • Assess employee’s needs to be scheduled with employee’s personal care provider and monitor treatment plan, including referrals, testing and follow up appointments.
  • Crisis intervention, assessment/ and follow-up: refer to EAP and/or other mental health counseling as needed. Educate on community and other resources.
  • Maintain reporting and records obligations as required by OSHA, DOT (i.e., OSHA 300 Log, etc.)
  • Manage medical components of Workers Compensation claims and filing. Provides records and documentation for Litigation proceedings, maintains communication with third party administrator, medical providers and inside/outside legal counsel.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies and equipment in the Health Center and in Company medical bags throughout the facilities.
  • Maintains medical and universal waste program.
  • Assists in coordinating programs such as blood borne pathogens, hearing conservation and respiratory surveillance including, but not limited to initial or annual/refresher testing and training.
  • Assist in accident/injury investigation.
  • Assist with Company’s Drug and Alcohol program including but not limited to, employee testing for post injury or reasonable suspicion.
  • Administer Short Term Disability program and claims, assist with FMLA.
  • Plans, directs and implements wellness programs including but not limited to coordinating outside vendors for both on and offsite events, (i.e., biometric screening, annual flu shots, health fairs, etc.).
  • Directs and plans the executive physical programs and initiate referrals as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of medical records.
  • Oversees and monitors the light duty program.
  • Investigates Ergonomic issues and consults with the Safety and Engineering departments to prevent or resolve causes of injury/illness in the workplace.
  • Post-offer drug screens.
  • Coordinates First Responder program and continuing education needs.
  • Submits articles or distributions to the intercompany communication platforms pertinent to wellness programs or other timely issues.
  • Continuously attends workshops, conferences and seminars to maintain up to date knowledge of relevant medical issues and maintain peer relationships and networking.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
