Mercer Canada is seeking a Health & Benefits Analyst to join their H&B consulting department in their Ottawa office. This is a hybrid role that requires being in the office at least 3 days a week. The analyst will participate in delivering impactful solutions for organizations of any size and varied industries, working in a collaborative environment on a wide variety of client teams. The role involves supporting clients in the financial and strategic management of their employee benefit programs through analysis and communication, performing calculations related to employee benefit plans and insurance arrangements, and developing project management and consulting skills. The analyst will also develop a deeper understanding of Mercer's Health and Benefits products, services, technical tools, vendor/carrier markets, underwriting skills, and budget/rate setting through various training methods. The position requires providing accurate and timely data and financial analysis for medical, dental, life, and disability programs, validating and comparing premiums, producing quarterly experience monitoring reports, analyzing financial statements of group insurance plans, analyzing cost drivers, performing in-depth analyses for complex situations, gathering and validating data, and working with client teams to develop recommendations and reporting. Reviewing amendments, contracts, and booklets is also part of the responsibilities.
