About The Position
The Health Benefits Advisor (HBA) assists patients obtain medical insurance coverage or assistance for health coverage. The HBA provides follow-up to determine and ensure enrollment within the health center and during outreach services.
Requirements
- Two to four years of experience in human services or healthcare role required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current health care reform regulations and processes.
- Experience with Virtual Gateway strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with managed care plans preferred.
- Strong customer service and prioritization skills.
- High school/GED diploma required.
- Post-high school training required.
- Bilingual in English and one of the languages to serve the patient population.
- Demonstrated clerical and computer skills required.
- Adequate reading and writing skills in both languages.
Nice To Haves
- BS/BA preferred.
