About The Position

The Health Benefits Advisor (HBA) assists patients obtain medical insurance coverage or assistance for health coverage. The HBA provides follow-up to determine and ensure enrollment within the health center and during outreach services.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of experience in human services or healthcare role required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current health care reform regulations and processes.
  • Experience with Virtual Gateway strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with managed care plans preferred.
  • Strong customer service and prioritization skills.
  • High school/GED diploma required.
  • Post-high school training required.
  • Bilingual in English and one of the languages to serve the patient population.
  • Demonstrated clerical and computer skills required.
  • Adequate reading and writing skills in both languages.

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA preferred.
