About The Position

Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trails is seeking a dynamic Health and Wellness Director (HWD) / Director of Nursing (DON) for their 88-bed Independent Living and Memory Care community in Keene, TX. This role is an integral part of the management team, providing healthcare leadership and expertise to foster an environment of optimal living for residents. The HWD will plan, organize, and direct clinical services in accordance with regulations and policies, focusing on employee and resident safety. Requirements

  • LPN/LVN Supervisory/Management experience in Assisted Living & Memory Care is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • LVN, LPN or Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing.
  • RN preferred.
  • Five to seven years’ experience in a senior care environment preferred.
  • Five years’ previous management experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services, complex medical conditions, multiple medical diagnoses, including preventive measures, rehabilitation, and promoting independence.
  • Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology, including education in the aging process, memory decline and related behavior management highly preferred.
  • Expertise in most up-to-date safety and infection control practices.
  • Experience building and leading effective nursing teams including hiring, training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of clinical services.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Focus on employee and resident safety.
  • Maintain, manage, and inspire a full team through recruiting, interviewing, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate individualized care plans, and provide empathetic, personalized care.
  • Liaise seamlessly with internal staff, third-party vendors, and medical professionals.
  • Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, update physician order sheets, and assure compliance with healthcare protocols.
  • Ensure proper medication management, complete timely audits, handle incident reporting, and conduct investigations.
  • Assist community during emergencies.
