About The Position

Northwest Administrators Inc. is seeking a passionate and customer-service-oriented Health and Welfare Benefits Representative. This role involves liaising between the administrative office, local unions, contributing employers, and participants to educate them on plan provisions and changes. The representative will act as a trainer or teacher, helping participants understand the value of their earned benefits, especially during significant life events. The position requires responding to participant inquiries via phone, email, and in person, assisting with benefit applications, claims, appeals, and eligibility questions, and reviewing denied claims to support accurate decisions. Collaboration with internal teams and completion of special projects are also key aspects of the role. This is a hybrid position, requiring work in different office environments.

Requirements

  • Provide superior customer service, every day
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in the benefits and/or Human Resources field
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

  • Explain plan eligibility, benefits, and participation requirements to participants and stakeholders.
  • Assist participants with benefit applications, claims, appeals, and eligibility questions.
  • Review denied claims and gather documentation to support accurate claim decisions.
  • Respond to participant inquiries by phone, email, and in person with professional customer service.
  • Conduct meetings and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and consistent support.
  • Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
