About The Position

In this role, you will make an impact by promoting a strong safety culture, supporting compliance and risk reduction, identifying and responding to hazards proactively, strengthening HSE processes and documentation, using data to improve safety performance, improving safety awareness through communication, contributing to quality and operational excellence, and supporting continuous improvement and teamwork. You will also be responsible for managing and providing in-person HSE training, promoting an HSE communication strategy, and supporting the development of a program to promote a safety culture that drives engagement opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• Minimal or no work experience required.

Nice To Haves

• A two year University degree in Industrial Safety or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture by consistently following HSE policies, leading by example, and helping production and site personnel recognize and address potential hazards before they result in incidents.
• Support compliance and risk reduction by assisting with health and safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions to close gaps and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Identify and respond to hazards proactively by using stop-work practices when major injury hazards are present, promptly reporting concerns, and helping implement effective controls to protect employees.
• Strengthen HSE processes and documentation by maintaining accurate records, supporting Health & Safety Management Systems, and ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting requirements are followed consistently.
• Use data to improve safety performance by gathering and reviewing safety-related information, identifying trends, and helping the HSE team develop actions that address recurring risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Improve safety awareness through communication by clearly sharing HSE expectations, reporting requirements, emergency response information, and safety initiatives with employees and support teams.
• Contribute to quality and operational excellence by following standard work and quality procedures, performing quality checks, identifying non-conforming material, and raising issues that could create safety, quality, or cost exposures.
• Support continuous improvement and teamwork by actively participating in health, safety, wellness, process, and employee-development initiatives while building HSE knowledge and completing required training and development.
• Be proactive and action oriented by addressing safety concerns quickly, taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, and approaching new challenges with energy, urgency, and a willingness to step in when needed.
• Build resilience and courage by staying focused when faced with setbacks or difficult situations and having the confidence to raise concerns, challenge unsafe practices, and address difficult issues when employee safety is at risk.
• Collaborate effectively across the organization by building strong working relationships with production employees, site leadership, HSE professionals, and support teams to achieve shared safety, quality, and operational goals.
• Communicate clearly and effectively by adapting communication to different audiences and using conversations, training, documentation, and reporting to create safety awareness and ensure important HSE information is understood and acted upon.
• Develop strong HSE investigation and management-system knowledge by learning how to conduct evidence-based incident investigations, identify root causes, establish effective corrective actions, and apply HSE standards and management-system requirements within the manufacturing environment.
• Develop manufacturing and continuous-improvement expertise by understanding production processes, equipment, and applications and using that knowledge to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall process performance.
• Learn continuously and use resources effectively by seeking feedback, reflecting on strengths and development opportunities, learning from both successes and failures, and finding creative ways to secure and deploy the people, information, and tools needed to solve problems.
• Maintain a strong customer and people focus while valuing differences by understanding the needs of employees and internal customers, considering diverse perspectives, and using those perspectives to develop practical safety solutions that support an inclusive, healthy, and productive workplace.
• Manage and provide in-person HSE training.
