About The Position

This role involves providing support and expertise on OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as ISO 45001 and ISO 14000 standards. The specialist will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and updating health and safety programs, completing and conducting inventories of materials, and developing and delivering safety and health-related training. Additionally, the role includes assisting with safety and health inspections or audits of laboratories and site facilities.

Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to support environmental, safety, and health programs, inventory of materials, audits or inspections, and safety training
  • Ability to collect samples
  • Ability to move items, instruments, or equipment, including using carts
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering field and 1+ years of experience with OSHA and EPA regulations, or 4+ years of experience with OSHA and EPA regulations in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in laboratory environments, including a biosafety setting
  • Experience managing or creating databases in Access, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Oracle, or similar data or record software system
  • Experience with web design or development, or the Content Management System
  • Knowledge of environmental or safety and health management systems such as ISO 14000 and ISO 45001
  • Possession of excellent organization, facilitation, collaboration, problem-solving, listening, and customer service skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • OSHA General Industry 10-hr, OSHA General Industry 30-hr, ASP, and Registered Biosafety Professional (RBP) Certifications
  • Completion of RCRA Hazardous Waste Generator, HAZWOPER, and CPR Training

Responsibilities
