Requirements

  • Completed university studies in human resources, industrial relations, occupational health and safety or in a relevant discipline.
  • 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Knowledge of the laws of the various provinces and the Canada Labour Code.
  • Good understanding of occupational injury management.
  • Demonstrated autonomy, initiative and a strong sense of organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve problems, take initiative and follow up on projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good command of common computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Valid driver's licence and car are mandatory.

Nice To Haves

  • Health and Safety professional accreditations such as CRSP.
  • Knowledge of management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in the implementation of the strategic health and safety action plan and risk management processes related to the company's activities and operations.
  • Support all stations in their daily management of health and safety.
  • Develop, administer and continuously improve health and safety prevention programs in order to support the company's orientations and reduce risks.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and dissemination of health and safety training activities for managers and employees.
  • Accompany managers during the investigation and analysis of accidents and follow up on corrective measures.
  • Build and update internal health and safety audits on all operations in Canada.
  • Collaborate in the definition of performance indicators related to health and safety and in the development of a dashboard.
  • Update and analyze performance indicators for operations and the service center.
  • Conduct safety compliance audits to ensure standards are met, communicate safety performance indicators to managers.
  • Manage the training of first aid employees and ensure that standards are maintained.
  • Manage the training of OHS committee members and ensure that quorum standards are maintained.
  • Follow up on the Occupational Health and Safety Committees.
  • Conduct accident analysis and propose corrective actions.
  • Maintain health and safety programs by ensuring that manuals, guides, presentations and other tools are maintained.
  • Supervise the administrative follow-up of occupational injury files with the various federal and provincial authorities governing health and safety.
  • Perform other related tasks to support the Human Resources Director in her various mandates.
