About The Position

We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager who is passionate about safety and enjoys hands-on field work. This role combines field presence, coaching, and collaboration to enhance safety practices across the company. The ideal candidate will spend time on job sites, assisting teams in working safely and confidently, while also partnering with operations and leadership to embed safety into daily habits. This is a visible and influential position focused on building trust and ensuring site safety, compliance, and support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in health and safety, preferably in cleaning, facilities, hospitality, or a multi-site operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and its practical application.
  • Comfortable working in the field and interacting with frontline teams.
  • Clear and natural communication skills, with the ability to build trust.
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities effectively.
  • Experience leading incident investigations, inspections, and audits.
  • Ability to travel regularly to different job sites.
  • Ability to meet required client security clearance requirements.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent designation.
  • A security clearance and/or a criminal and credit check may be required.
  • Good credit standing for positions with access to financial data or funds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve health and safety programs for practical application.
  • Conduct regular field visits to job sites to connect with teams and identify safety improvement opportunities.
  • Provide hands-on guidance, coaching, and practical solutions to supervisors and site leads.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, focusing on learning and prevention.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, client requirements, and internal standards.
  • Develop and deliver engaging safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding sessions.
  • Maintain current safety documentation, including procedures, site safety plans, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with HR and operations to support return-to-work plans and modified duties.
  • Track safety performance and trends to drive improvements.
  • Serve as a primary resource for safety-related inquiries.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning and ensure team readiness.
