Health and Safety Coordinator
About The Position
The Health & Safety Coordinator will play a key role in reinforcing DP World’s safety culture by ensuring employees and temporary associates understand and follow established safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements. The position will also monitor corrective actions, support audits and inspections, assist with emergency preparedness, and provide safety guidance and coaching to employees and leaders. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial safety, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees and leadership at all levels. The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and administration of workplace safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. This position assists in monitoring and improving safety performance, conducting inspections and investigations, and promoting a culture of safety across all departments. The Safety Coordinator works closely with management and employees to identify hazards, prevent incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in occupational safety, EHS, or a related role within manufacturing, logistics, or construction.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
- Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management systems or EHS software.
Nice To Haves
- Professional certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credentials are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
- Support the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain and update safety records, training documentation, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks to employees.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Participate in the development and review of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs).
- Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives and serve as a point of contact for safety-related concerns.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and PPE inventories.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and first aid coordination.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to reinforce a strong safety culture throughout operations.
