About The Position

This role identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances. The analyst removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment. The position ensures that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, and that all required records are prepared and maintained. The analyst participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation. They also investigate and prepare reports on injuries and fatalities, and conduct safe work procedures training courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Responsibilities

  • Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances.
  • Removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
  • Ensures that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement.
  • Ensures that all required records are prepared and maintained.
  • Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.
  • Investigates, prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries and fatalities.
  • Conducts safe work procedures training courses.
