About The Position

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Certification such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in health and safety advisory roles, preferably within the agriculture industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial health and safety regulations applicable to agriculture.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop effective safety programs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health and safety risk assessments specific to agricultural activities and environments.
  • Develop, update, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in line with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management and workers to promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
  • Stay current with changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
