About The Position

The Health Administrator works closely with the leadership team, clinical providers, oral health providers, support and professional staff to ensure that Ryan White (RW) patients are fully informed and compliant with treatment options and have access to available care within their treatment plan. In addition, the Health Administrator works to ensure RW and HIV Prevention programs are in compliance with all program scopes, outcomes, protocols and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health or social service field with at least 5 years prior experience working with PLWH (People Living w/ HIV) and/or prevention or health related field required.
  • Must have experience working with diverse populations including patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Strong HIV care and best practice knowledge and training.
  • Must be well organized, a self-starter, effective presenter and interviewer and have strong verbal, written, computer, and communication skills.
  • Ability to use personal computer systems software; ability to analyze, appraise, and organize facts and precedents and to prepare written recommendations and make effective and responsible decisions; ability to work independently and be self-motivated; ability to train, supervise, and motivate employees; ability to compile clear, complete, and logical reports and correspondence; ability to recognize, investigate, and analyze a variety of legal and administrative problems and devise effective solutions; ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to apply specialized knowledge to individual cases and problems; ability to work with a diverse workforce; ability to make sound decisions in accordance with CFR 42 regulations, policies and procedures of the organization; ability to organize and prioritize a variety of demands on time; and ability to speak publicly in an effective manner.
  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in health or social service field with at least 2-5 years prior experience working with PLWH (People Living w/ HIV) and/or prevention or health related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of HIV prevention and care programs, and projects including, Ryan White Part A, B, C, PHIMC and PCHP grants
  • Provide day to day staff and project training and oversight of staff
  • Ensure that all contract scopes and criteria are met or exceeded
  • Facilitation of interdisciplinary and departmental patient staffing.
  • Coordination and facilitation of QA and QI initiatives of the department
  • Participation in key HIV committees and workgroups impacting HIV and related care in the Chicagoland area
  • Support Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) recruitment and patient /client advocacy and quality improvement activities
  • Development and implementation of departmental action plans which are aligned with the organizations strategic vision and goals
  • Updating and aligning departmental policies, procedures and workflows with HRSA and funding source core clinical and quality measures and/or standards
  • Support the coordination of care of HIV+/at risk patients and their primary care providers
  • Provide direct supervision and assessment of the performance of non-clinical HIV staff, Part C, Part B, Part A reporting, PCHP and PHIMC grant.
  • Recommend personnel actions; assess staff performance; mentor/coach staff and provide direction and feedback; participate in team or work unit meetings; plan agendas for meetings; prepare technical reports
  • Assist in the expansion of HIV care services to the south suburbs
  • Review the maintenance of reporting data for HIV clients at Christian Community Health Center, in both Athena and Careware or related program systems
  • Support service integration efforts together with the ambulatory, behavioral health, oral health and social service teams.
  • Work closely with HIV program staff, i.e., prevention, outreach, housing, case-management, clinical, etc.
  • Support HIV population health management activities including patient tracking, reporting, and re-engagement of patients in care
  • Collaborate with the other departments on patient continuity of care, and quality initiatives.
  • Facilitate patient medications management based on standing orders and clinical protocols
  • Provide individual and group medication adherence services to HIV + individuals, to improve viral load suppression and retention outcomes.
  • Liaison to appropriate levels of leadership with various external audiences regarding the promotion and enhancement of HIV services and programs, across the HIV care continuum
  • Coordinate HIV related trainings/education workshops for staff to enhance HIV knowledge and receive biomedical updates
  • Manage assigned departments/individuals in accordance with CCHC’s policies, procedures, and applicable regulations; management duties including planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching, supervising, appraising performance, and guiding professional development; hiring; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.
