About The Position

Telos Academy is seeking a Head Wrestling Coach to instruct and train students aged 13-17 in preparation for wrestling matches. The coach will work closely with the academic team to guide, assess, encourage, and track individual student progress, adapting resources to meet diverse learning needs. This is a seasonal, stipend-paid position reporting to the Athletic Coordinator.

Requirements

A basic understanding of the disorders Telos treats or a willingness to learn about these disorders.
A basic understanding of wrestling and coaching.
A love of physical activity and training.
A love of working with and teaching adolescents.
A positive attitude.
A desire to be a team player.
Must have CPR, First Aid, and Basic Life Support Certifications (upon hire).

Responsibilities

Work directly under the supervision of the Telos Athletic Coordinator.
Recruit students interested in wrestling.
Coordinate rides for athletes from all three campuses to attend practice four days a week (90-minute practices).
Provide coaching support during practices specific to Telos students.
Provide coaching support during weekend competitions to Telos students.
Transport athletes to competition events on Friday nights and/or Saturdays.
Provide support for Telos students during practice and competition.
Plan for meals and snacks for all Telos athletes.
Communicate the weekly and season schedule to the AD and therapists.
Register students for weekend events by Wednesday of each week.
Provide weekly updates to parents of students and take pictures each weekend.
Obtain a USA Wrestling Coaches membership (includes background check and safe sport training).
