About The Position

The Head Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for carrying out all aspects of the sport program necessary to accomplish objectives of the sport within the guidelines of the University, the Athletic department, Heart of America Athletic Conference and the NAIA. This role involves recruiting highly skilled student-athletes, managing the program's schedule and budget, overseeing public relations and promotions, and ensuring academic support and retention of student-athletes. The coach must maintain accurate records and reports, adhere to all relevant policies and regulations, and provide leadership to assistant coaches and support staff. Additionally, the coach is responsible for managing team travel and ensuring student-athletes embody the core character values of NAIA: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership. Certification to transport students to athletic events is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in playing and/or coaching at collegiate, university, or professional level.
  • Knowledge of NAIA and Heart Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
  • A proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student-athletes academically and athletically.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Pass a pre-employment background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Academic support and retention of student-athletes.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, particularly regarding athletic budget, eligibility, compliance, and travel documentation.
  • Adhering to the policies and regulations of the University, Department of Athletics, Heart of America Athletic Conference and NAIA.
  • Orientation and discipline of student-athletes to guidelines.
  • Providing leadership and direction to assist coaches and other support personnel.
  • Managing and overseeing the team on road trips.
  • Managing all related sports activities.
  • Promoting and demonstrating the five core character values of NAIA: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
  • Achieving certification to transport students to team athletic events.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
